Whiskers: My vet says to give my pet boosters every year is not needed & likely to do more harm than good. Every 3 years is what he recommends.

Of course all pet insurance is going to require you to get the booster shots, the dog needs them, if they get an illness that could have been covered by vaccinations that you didn’t get then why should insurance have to pay for it?

I’ve heard some boosters do only need every 3 years, but there are those that need it every year. My vet has recommended some to be done every year while others every two or three years. If the insurance is saying you have to have it every year for boosters your vet (and other vets as well) don’t recommend to be every year, then try getting a letter from your vet saying that he doesn’t recommended those boosters to be given every year.
