I bought this when dog trainer recommended one for our rescue labrador. It’s strong, easy to use and doesn’t cause rope burns. Best of all it’s very washable. Our dog wears one for our peace of mind, but can run around freely without us holding onto it – it doesn’t stop his enjoyment, but does mean that we can easily get him back just by standing on the lead! One thing we did do was knot the lead a couple of times to create loops for hand holds.

I was a little skeptical about this when I first got it as I thought it might be a bit of a gimmick, and when I saw it I thought it would be too heavy for my pup. We tried it out though, and he has no trouble with it at all. It has two different sized trigger hooks and a number of hoops so you can make the leader longer or shorter, or make loops for holding – so you can use it as a normal lead or you can easily tie it round something without having to take the dog off the lead. You could also use it for two dogs at once (not as a long lead though). It’s fabulous for recall training, and we’ve tested it on the beach, the field, and the woods without getting ourselves in a tangle (yet!).

Colin is a 5 year old rescue dogy partner and I adopted nearly two years ago. He is super clever but recall training has always been difficult as he tends to run after other dogs; given that he is a learcher-collie cross he covers a lot of ground very quickly! With the long lead he can have loads more freedom and we can take him to more places and know that we won’t loose him and will be able to spend time training him round other dogs. A great petchase, well recommended.

Bertie is a rescue dog and needed to be trained in order that he could enjoy having the freedom to run in the woods. I bought the Clix training lead, and with a pocket full of cheese cubes, training him was really easy. Bertie is now able to run free, has made friends [which was not really possible when he was on a normal lead] and returns immediately, when I call. This lead has given Bertie lots of fun as he was able to go for a swim and I could still hold onto him if the river was running fast, so I have a really happy “Bertie Whooster” Thank you Clix for giving me the “where-with-all for training Bertie.

if you have problems with your dog, buy 3 of theses and give you dog a new lease of life, it WILL get caught on things as the dog runs along GOOD for you, as you can catch up, BUT the best thing is the lead is light, and it will look as good on day 1 as in 6 months time, also the dog will love you all the more for this lead and over time will realise how far he or she can go and stop trying for longer lead, much better than string, as when my dogs swim with the lead it floats.
