Product Description
Like people, pets need water as an essential element for survival. Since water constitutes approximately 70% of a cat or dogs body, it is imperative to encourage them to replenish their reserves for health & well-being. The drinking fountain fulfils your pets need for a continuous supply of fresh and clean drinking water. Re-circulating water increases oxygenation to provide fresh tasting, cool, filtered water with a multitude of health benefits. Encouraging cats & … More >>

Our two cats love it, it takes a bit of effort sometimes to get it to flow evenly but it looks cool when it does.
The filter clogs after a week or so, not that it restricts the water but it just shows how much debris gets into the fountain, especially when you connect the food bowl to the device. We change the water weekly usually but it could be left for a little longer. Just rinse out the filter (Just a mesh with charcoal pieces inside) a few times to get the most from it.
You do need to top up the water every couple of days, its amazing to see how much more cats drink though when its out of this thing.
Overall, brilliant item. Recomended

We bought our first Cat-It Dome Fountain in early 2006. We were realy happy with it and our cats thrived on having fresh running water constantly available.
Unfortunately, the motor failed in Jan 2007 and so we bought a replacement unit as we were happy with its performance before then. One year on and our second unit has just failed so now we’re looking for a new one again.
Not sure if we’ve just been unlucky, but I would have hoped for more than a year’s service out of them. I’m going to try a different brand this time, but would wholeheartedly recommend a cat fountain to any cat owner, especially those whose cats have had urniary problems in the past.

First I started with simple bowls, but my cats got food and dust in it. So I went for a Petsmart Drinking Fountain because it replenishes the water and the cats think they are drinking from a faucet. But, the noise was driving me nuts and it still collected dust and food. Then I accidentally discovered this fountain. I liked the looks of the dome so I bought it. Not only does my cat suck up the water more, but it is quiet and there is NO dust, lint or food in the bowl, as there is very little room around the edge for things to collect. The simple carbon filter keeps everything from recirculation and the dome contains twice as much water as Petsmart’s fountains. The water stays cooler constantly and it is easy to see when it needs to be replaced (not very often). It’s just cool. I wish I had found it sooner. Lastly, the filters don’t need replacement as often, but they will gum up like any other carbon filter.

I now have one fountain in every cat room, as the cats prefer this once they have used it to ordinary water bowls. It is easy to assemble and easy to clean. I cannot recommend this enough.
The biggest plus is that it is a real timesaver in a multi-cat household, so daily top-ups are not necessary. The filter can be cleaned and used a couple of times before replacement and post pet product retailers stock the filter, making it easy to source.
The only thing that may make this product better, would be the facility to completely dismantle it, remove the pump and put it in the dishwasher. The additional Catit mat is not necessary and any waterproof mat is sufficient to protect floors and carpets, as the Catit mat seems to attract dust and dirt more readily, it does however, match the fountain and is attractive when paired with it.

We bought one of these last year, we have 4 cats and they all love it! I was tired of leaving several bowls of water around the kitchen in the height of summer in case they ran out and this solved our problem. We have ours on a timer switch so it comes on several times a day rather than being on constantly, but as soon as one of our cats hears it ‘click on’ she runs out to it. The filters do get quite grubby, tend to get a lot of hair trapped in them and they can get quite a lot of limescale, but it comes apart easily for cleaning so its not really a problem and you can get this with a normal bowl anyway. I would recommend the Fountain especially in multi cat households its great!!
